Henry Edward Eubanks

Henry Edward Eubanks, 83 of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Marion.
Henry was retired from Blue Bell Packing Co. after 23 years of service. He had also served as the Health Officer of the Du Quoin Police Department for 9 years.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, the Sesser American Legion and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association.
He answered the call of his country serving in the 325 Glider Infantry of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army in W.W. II.
He was born April 23, 1918 at Sesser, IL the son of Quincy and Lola Mae (Short) Eubanks. He married Alice Marie Kinman on July 4, 1953 at Pinckneyville and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin; two daughters - Ruth Belcher of Ft. Eustis, Virginia and Donna Anderson and husband Roy of Du Quoin; one son - Carl Eubanks and fiancee Laurie McClintock of Nashville; one sister - Mary Leona Inabnit and husband Tom of Sesser; six grandchildren - Kyle, Kristin and Kasey Anderson all of Du Quoin, Michael Belcher of Towson, MD, Pamela Furrow and husband Bill of Ft. Eustis, VA, John Belcher and wife Amber of Newport News, VA; four great-grandchildren - Katherine, Helen, Hannah Rose and Joseph Furrow; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends calledfrom 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. The Rosary was said at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Church or the Sacred Heart School.
